Hi Erik,

Yes, I used to change trains at Karlsruhe on my way to see the kids and have lunch; I often thought about the benefits of the court being so far removed from Bonn/Berlin. Strikingly, I heard about 'elite capture' of the major US departments (FBI, DOJ, HHS et al), organisation's which ought to implement political decisions rather than being involved in making them, more this trip than all my others to DC combined. I agree its a great idea. It has the added benefit that the arrogant Democratic 'swamp creatures' will resign en masse if they have to leave DC for the rest of the country, which they would see as beneath them. It is not; it is called service to the Republic. Lets move them and let them go

Thanks so much for your kind words and steadfast support; reporting these deep dives is like reading a great detective story--I love sharing them with you!

Konrad Adenauer put the Constitutional (or Supreme) Court of the Federal Republic in Karlsruhe on purpose, when the Parliament and Government were based in Bonn, to put it out of political control. It still resides there, even after the capital moved to Berlin.

Put it in South Dakota, Mount Rushmore.
