The democrats had a perfectly sensible candidate for mayor in Chicago, but he had a huge flaw: he was white. He lost narrowly. Now they are stuck with Brandon.
Same thing happens here in the UK, where the Labour party is beholden to the muslim clerics, who direct the entire mosque to vote one way or the other. That's why muslim rape gangs are not prosecuted in the UK, not even investigated. And the borders are wide-open, with 35 year old single males throwing away their passports in the Channel and claiming to be 15 upon landing, giving them access to schoolchildren (besides not having to look for a job).
Hello all .. great song by The doors LA Woman. The Doors – “L.A. Woman”
A psychedelic ode to LA’s wild, unhinged spirit, its dark undertones of “motels, money, murder, madness” echo the city’s current blend of glamour and grime.
And... maybe Janes Addition? I am unfortunately, is living in this madness...
Yes, John ..The End, perfect!!!The Doors seem so correct for this time.. I began last Friday night with Midnight Ride..and the doors continued for all weekend. Today, Lovely To See You My Friend.. Moody Blues as friends are all checking :) some I haven't heard from in years. Maybe, Things are Changing.. Times are a Changing
Yes Erik, this is what decline looks like. Democratic one-party rule in cities across the US is the best ad for the GOP imaginable. We can see in real time in what an unfettered Democratic world would look like. And its not pretty
Could it be that not all the protestors are politically motivated or aligned with a specific party? Maybe many are just disenfranchised individuals using protest to feel heard, not to express formal ideology. Is it wrong to assume they’re all Democrats? I’d bet a large chunk are apolitical, disillusioned, or driven more by emotion than partisanship.
No, Kieran, really no. While I am sure there are people in the crowd with some of those feelings, bottom line one party supports untrammelled immigration and one does not. You will find they are infinitely more aligned than you suggest. If you bother prostrating you care about the issue, even more so if you protest violently. These are not some innocent lambs here; this is a social and a political act. Full stop
Whether it happened through poor management or not, surely neither party genuinely supports untrammelled immigration. As a non US citizen, I appreciate it’s not really my place to say much more on it. I know the context is different, but we’ve had our share of riots in the UK in recent years. And despite all the political rhetoric, the really depressing thing was that much of it came from disenfranchised youth who, more than anything, just wanted to cause trouble.
Kieran, this is just dead wrong. The Biden people let in around 10 million illegal immigrants in 4 years. First they said it wasn’t so. Second, it wasn’t as bad as it was made out. Third they couldn’t do anything about it. I went over all this. Fourth, when his candidacy was tanking and polls showed the GOP killing him on the issue, only then did Biden reinstate Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy, which had improved matters. I must get on with other things now, but post-modernism is not called for here either about Dem or rioter motivations. It’s crystal clear (and I laid out why) for most this is a political and social act. Time to see things as they are
100%... It sickens me seeing people like Karen Bass saying things like (I'm paraphrasing): this country was built on immigrants; these people are doctors, lawyers, and other professionals that meaningful contribute to our country. She is absolutely right on the first part - we need and want immigrants. The word they all purposely omit in making these statements is "illegal" immigrants. They should not be here in the first place, and brazenly skipped the line to bypass people like my Venezuelan brother-in-law, who patiently waited years for a visa to come here the right way... What's worse is that there are a good number of illegal immigrants here who have not just slipped into the fold for a better life (I know there are many of those, and I do have some sympathy for them, despite having broken the law on arrival), but instead have committed multiple crimes, sometimes violent. Why any US citizen would want to defend those people from deportation is beyond me. Chis Van Hollen should be embarrassed to show his face in front of his constituents.
JJ I entirely agree we have to differentiate as to who we are talking about here. No one denies the fact that America was entirely built by immigrants, that we are all immigrants, one way or the other. Crucially, as you say, one of the most hard core groups in the polls in favour of war the administration is doing is the newly arrived citizens, who patiently waited years to get ahead in the country the right way (God bless them). That is far different from illegal immigrants, and particularly illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, which is the group ICE is first going after. Polls make it clear that upwards of 80 percent of Americans want this group deported and rightly so. The Democrats, in their inability to retain order or be for a sensible immigration policy are just killing themselves.
John, Absolutely one Zillion percent on point! Thanks for this second discussion on Nullification today.
Glad you are feeling better! Hopefully Friday we will visit the Odyssey with you, the greek gods keep calling but... life and reality keep interupting.
They politicize issues that Americans don’t want politicized. Newsome is in so deep, his political stunt backfired more than he anticipated. It’s a total $hi! show in Southern California
It's tribal voting that underpins it.

Great call Dianne! A perfect song for the moment, The Door’s wonderful swan song; an off-kilter love note to the City of the Angels. Stay safe!
I never get tired of The Doors, it always sounds fresh! I saw where he hung out and lived during his Laurel Canyon days
Yes I love hour tock star tourism Terri, as our tastes mesh over the canyon. Listening to ‘The End’ as I write this….

Democrat controlled cities start to look like Paris more and more: it's called a "soft night" if only 10 cars get torched; only 10 shops get leveled.

Yes, I feel like Odysseus; I keep sailing for Ithaca and getting blown somewhere else! here’s to this Friday, Dianne!

Welcome to the Hotel California

How easy it is to become an excuse-nik.
